Any U-M faculty or staff member may submit a proposal for an international agreement on academic cooperation or educational programs. Ideally, proposals will be made in consultation with the International Bureau at the unit level and/or the Global Engagement Team of the Office of the Dean to determine: The following steps outline the process of creating and finalizing these agreements: All academic and educational agreements on the Ann Arbor campus are signed by the Vice-President, Learning engaged on behalf of the Dean and the Board of Regents. The Flint and Dearborn Agreements must be signed by the appropriate Chancellor or Authorized Delegate. If you have any questions about a specific articulation agreement, please contact the student advisory board of the respective university. The U-M Office of Research (UMOR) has the right to sign activities that involve funded research projects, third-party funding or certain research results. Consult the guidelines for UMOR-sponsored project agreements and the types of unfunded contracts. Examples of UMOR`s contractual activities include: These guidelines apply to international academic cooperation agreements and educational programs, electronic affiliation.B, letters of intent, agreements, non-binding agreements, and any changes or additions to these documents. Internationally funded research and data use agreements must follow UMOR procedures for funded projects or unfunded agreements. Contracts/invoices for international programmes must follow procurement procedures. The Dean`s Office has the U-M signing authority for academic cooperation and educational program agreements with international institutions.

Activities that fall under the jurisdiction of the Dean`s Office include: 1. To create an agreement based on the official um-Dearborn templates, first upload the appropriate template and complete the required information. UM-Dearborn units are encouraged to use existing official UM-Dearborn models (see above) to conclude a national or international academic agreement (e.B affiliation, internship, student exchange). If none of the campus models are used for the purposes of your planned agreement, please contact Sheryl Kubiak for resources (sherylku@umich.edu, 313-593-5151). With more than 140 transfer agreements with community colleges — more than any other university in the state of Michigan — Eastern Michigan University has long been considered the most student-friendly school at community colleges. 4. Send the revised agreement, including your comments, to the Dean`s office for referral to the OGC for legal review. 3.

Create a final version of the agreement, get the other party`s signature and send the signed agreement to the provost`s office to process the final signature*. The Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) was mandated by the Michigan Legislature in the fall of 2014 to replace the MACRAO agreement. The MTA allows the transfer of 30 credits of basic general education courses from a Michigan Community College to a Michigan Baccalaureate College or University. Students can complete the MTA as part of an associate degree or as a standalone package. MTA courses are approved by the Community College. The Board of Regents is the Legal Governing Body of the University and, depending on the nature and scope of the agreement, has delegated formal authority to sign international agreements to the Office of the Dean, the Office of Research and Procurement Services. Please note that contract documents signed by individual U-M employees who do not have formal signing authority for regents are not valid. The U-M supports a wide range of global activities – from individual research collaborations and scientific visits between faculty members to larger platforms for student programs and joint research projects or laboratories.

Many of these activities can thrive without written agreements. However, in some cases, a written agreement may be required. These resources will help you determine when a written agreement is required and will guide you through the process of creating/legal review/approval/signing U-M. Other questions can be directed to the provost marshal`s office: international-agreements@umich.edu. * Please note that the Board of Regents is the legal governing body of the University of Michigan (including the University of Michigan-Dearborn) and has delegated the formal authority to sign national and international agreements to the Registrar and, where applicable, to the Registrar`s sub-delegates. Agreements signed by individual UM Dearborn employees who do not have formal signing authority for regents are not valid. (The Chancellor signs international agreements, the Provost Marshal signs national agreements.) Social work students work closely with the OFE Field Faculty to identify placement locations that align with curriculum objectives, learning objectives and individual interests. This website provides a list of the most recent and up-to-date articulation agreements between the University of Michigan-Dearborn and other institutions. For the purposes of this website, an “articulation agreement” defines a relationship between the University of Michigan-Dearborn and another institution that makes it easier for students to transfer academic credits to that campus.
